Job Summary:
Responsible for performing various administrative secretarial and clerical duties. Understands and follows the organizations policies procedures and standards. Is an independent worker meeting the day-to-day needs of the director and the department. Participates in the departments and organizations performance improvement activities.
Duties:
- Greets visitors directs visitors appropriately; maintains the communication flow of the office.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized during stressful situations.
- Answers the telephone in a professional manner; screens calls takes messages directs calls appropriately.
- Sorts logs and distributes all incoming mail; identifies mail that needs immediate attention.
- Maintains an organized efficient filing system. Debrides files according to established department and hospital guidelines.
- Records prepares and distributes meeting minutes.
- Orders supplies and printing weekly. Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
- Interacts professionally with all visitors within the department/office and with other departments.
- Transcribes from dictated or written material minutes memoranda policies procedures and reports.
- Accepts other duties as assigned.
Regulatory Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous knowledge of medical terminology required ( great role for a care technician looking to step away from direct patient care )
- Must be able to use office softwares such as Microsoft Word Excel
- Must be an organized multi tasker with strong written and verbal skills

- Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
