The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality low cost innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brighams unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings including primary care specialty care behavioral and mental health and urgent care both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts New Hampshire and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy imaging cardiac testing and infusion. We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our well-established Cardiology team. This position is based at 137 Main Street in Medford MA and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role is 40 hours per week including 36 hours of direct patient care and 4 hours of dedicated administrative time. There is no weekend or on-call responsibilities for this hire.

The NP will care for patients across a broad spectrum of cardiovascular conditions providing comprehensive outpatient cardiology care including the evaluation and management of new low acuity consults as well as ongoing follow-up care for established patients. The NP will also be responsible for interpreting and reviewing results of diagnostic testing for patients. This is an opportunity to work alongside a team of seasoned and well-established cardiologists in a collaborative and collegial environment with strong clinical support and the ability to build meaningful patient relationships in an outpatient-focused setting.


Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations including those with medical and/or surgical conditions as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions developing appropriate plans of care and conducting ongoing evaluations.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care counseling and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory inpatient operative and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders interprets and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic laboratory and physical examination findings.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes procedure notes operative notes and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
