Patient Care Assistant II (Peer Support Worker) [Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital]

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provides recovery support to mental patients in the hospital and community;

2. Assists mental patients in obtaining information that meet their individual needs;

3. Assists in organizing recovery-based training programs for mental patients;

4. Participates and shares opinions in clinical operational and administrative meetings;

5. Supports and publicizes recovery-oriented programs;

6. Assists in staff training activities;

7. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; and

2. Completion of structured departmental training (see Remarks).

3. Good command of written Chinese fluent spoken Cantonese and able to understand simple English.

Preferred Attributes:

1. Having the ability to demonstrate recovery exposure/ experience to support others in recovery would be an advantage.

2. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in mental health related services.

3. Flexible and have good organizational skills.

4. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in groups.

5. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

6. Good judgment (e.g. Offer ideas to solve problems and report problems immediately to the appropriate personnel)
