Senior Java Fullstack developer with German language

We are currently expanding our Budapest branch and are looking for a Senior Java Fullstack Developer with a strong backend mindset who enjoys working on large-scale enterprise applications.
The primary focus of this role is Java backend development designing and building robust scalable services. While you will collaborate with frontend teams and occasionally contribute to UI-related work this is not a frontend-driven position. Instead we are looking for someone who is backend-strong in Java and comfortable working across the stack when needed.
This role is well suited for an engineer who values consistency reuse and long-term maintainability and prefers evolving proven architectures rather than introducing fragmented or one-off solutions.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Work on a large existing enterprise React application extending and evolving established patterns
Design and implement complex dataheavy UI features such as forms grids CRUD screens and multistep sidebar flows
Collaborate closely with backend engineers on endtoend feature development
Occasionally take ownership of backendrelated tasks or backend parts of user stories
Integrate REST APIs using existing API and thunk layers
Contribute to improving code quality structure and longterm maintainability
Actively participate in technical discussions challenging ideas when appropriate and clearly explaining your own technical decisions
Proactively bring in new ideas and improvements that help move the product and engineering practices forward

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot in enterprise environments
Solid understanding of backend architecture API design and system integration
Experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems
Good knowledge of RESTful services and data-driven applications
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and modern development practices (Agile/DevOps)
Ability to understand and extend existing large codebases in a consistent way
Basic frontend awareness (React ecosystem) and willingness to collaborate across the stack
Understanding of authentication authorization and enterprise-level security concepts

Clear and confident communication skills
Ability to defend your technical point of view with sound reasoning
Comfortable working with strong experienced engineers and engaging in constructive technical debate
Proactive mindset: you bring ideas suggest improvements and help drive the project forward
Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality and longterm maintainability
Fluency in English German and Hungarian
