Design wiring diagrams and signal distribution plans for video and other related signals; create video effects and co-ordinate the setup and testing of equipment under your responsibility to meet production requirements. Perform switching duties.
As an Intermediate Switcher you will have the following key task
Develop and design wiring diagrams and signal distribution plans for video and other related signals to support production requirements allow for setup replication and serve as a basis for equipment lists.
Create complex video effects that align with the productions artistic vision; provide accurate time estimates for their execution.
Act as a technical adviser to production and creative teams recommending the best methods to achieve high-quality artistic and technical results.
Review and implement technical plans and diagrams.
Forecast and secure necessary equipment and technical materials according to instructions or established practices so as to meet production requirements; report any irregularities to the relevant people.
Co-ordinate with members of the technical and production teams the setup and testing of equipment required for the switching mixing and processing of video and other signals.
Co-ordinate and guide as needed the work of other employees tasked with producing preparing setting up operating and dismantling technical equipment.
Manage disk space and storage by archiving or deleting content associated with your work as required.
Import visual assets and convert various file formats for seamless integration into a program or program segment.
Evaluate equipment performance and write summary reports.
Maintain strict quality control over all technical outputs taking corrective action if established standards are not met.
Perform immediate technical corrections during equipment failures to restore service keeping the relevant people informed.
Attend planning or production meetings as needed.
Assist as needed in reviewing and/or developing operating methods and technical standards.
Produce technical reports by recording information relevant to your share of work and if applicable entering it in the appropriate files.
Conduct site visits as needed to identify technical requirements and logistics for remote productions.
Perform switching duties.
Report any breakdowns or defects in equipment or material to the relevant people.
Complete the appropriate forms and documents; share information verbally or in writing to ensure proper followup and to keep others informed.
Familiarize other employees with their duties and work environment.
Carry out as needed all or part of the duties of another job classification within an equivalent or lower salary group as well as other related duties.
This role requires full-time on-site presence.
What You Bring:
Qualifications:
College diploma (DCS) in TV production and post-production techniques or other relevant field.
Five (5) years experience required to perform duties satisfactorily given the complexity and range of specialization and variety of programs.

Practical test.
Interview.
