The Purchasing Manager at SERVPRO oversees all procurement activities supporting mitigation and reconstruction operations. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships negotiating pricing and ensuring timely cost-effective purchasing of materials equipment and services. The Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in maintaining project profitabilityespecially for reconstruction jobsby aligning purchasing strategies with budgets timelines and quality standards.
- Manage and maintain relationships with vendors subcontractors and suppliers
- Source evaluate and onboard new vendors to ensure quality reliability and competitive pricing
- Negotiate pricing terms and contracts to maximize cost savings and support gross profit goals
- Create review and track purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of materials
- Collaborate with project managers estimators and operations teams to align purchasing with project scopes and budgets
- Monitor material costs and market trends to proactively manage expenses
- Support gross profit targets on reconstruction jobs through strategic purchasing and cost control
- Resolve vendor issues including delays quality concerns and billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of purchases pricing agreements and vendor performance
- Ensure compliance with company policies insurance requirements and industry standards
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Assist with inventory management and material forecasting as needed
- Experience in purchasing procurement or supply chain management (construction or restoration industry preferred)
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of construction materials estimating and job costing
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
