The Easement Steward is a regular part-time position (17 hours per week) and is responsible for performing annual compliance monitoring inspections of assigned TNC Legal Interests from a suite of 45 Conservation Easements and 71 Deed Restrictions throughout New Hampshire.

The Easement Steward works collaboratively with and supports the Easement Program Manager with TNCs compliance monitoring program in NH by:
Implementing TNC standard monitoring procedures on assigned Conservation Easements Deed Restrictions and other Less-than-Fee Legal Interests:
- Become knowledgeable about property by reviewing baseline previous monitoring reports files and review with Easement Program Manager
- Coordinate the monitoring of a suite of 60 Great Bay Deed Restrictions held by TNC; this involves gaining knowledge of geographic context of these Great Bay projects tracking level of monitoring visit and leading annual/bi-annual debrief meetings with our partner agencies
- Coordinate with Landowner as appropriate taking opportunities to maintain and strengthen these relationships
- Perform Monitoring site visit and capture observational notes photographs and GPS data
- Evaluate observed condition of property against allowed uses and restrictions of the Deed Restrictions and Conservation Easements
- Use TNCs LAMS and ArcGISonline to enter monitoring information process photographs and GPS data and create Monitoring Reports
- Surface questions of non-compliance to Easement Program Manager and contribute perspective to resolution strategies
What Youll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED and 1 years training in science-related field or related experience in land management.
- Experience recognizing plant and animal species.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience operating various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner (e.g. Lawn mower chainsaw GPS Camera Compass Computer Tablet or similar equipment).
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Experience working alone in remote locations.
- Must be able to obtain related licenses or certifications as required. (e.g. First Aid CPR herbicide or pesticide application).
This position requires a valid drivers license and compliance with TNCs Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles rental cars or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered high risk drivers. Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement which may include a review of the prospective employees motor vehicle record.
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $22.50 per hour. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidates actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors including for example the candidates location qualifications specific skills and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
