Job Summary
Mfg. engrs - Manufacturing Engineer IIPosition Scope/Summary: Provide technical support and leadership to tube mill operations. Uses accepted principles to gather evidence conduct experiments analyze results and implement innovative solutions to manufacturing and customer-related technical issues. Is a central source for addressing concerns and problems of a technical nature. Position Requirements:Provide diversified range of technical services to both internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company goals. Areas of support include process development metallurgical testing cold drawing heat treating nondestructive testing and failure analysis of metal for making proper and timely disposition of nonconforming metallic materials including but not limited to NCR and customer and perform installation and operational qualifications (IQ and OQ) for new equipment and/or processes. Support the development and execution of master validation plans and product/process validations (PQ).Provide leadership to less experienced plan and execute actions to solve complex problems. Lead the application of SPC six sigma and lean principles statistical methods and design of experiments to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies and nonconformances. Use good project planning principles to develop task completion dates for equipment installation cost saving opportunities and process improvements and then execute to that communicate and measure technical risk for a variety of metals for use in medical aerospace and industrial products and the processes and equipment used to manufacture them. Develop and implement innovative solutions that support business interactions with internal and external customers to anticipate problems and implement process/product Working Conditions:While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually :Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science with 3 years of experience. Other engineering degrees with relevant metals processing experience will be to communicate (both written and oral) complex topics to persons not familiar with the subject to work and be hands-on in a manufacturing environment. Six Sigma certification is desired but not required with demonstrated experience in problem solving statistics and design of experiments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Minitab statistical software. Ability to perform advanced 3D modeling and drafting in support of process improvements machine and process development (Solidworks preferred).Experience with metal forming cleaning and heat-treating operations is a differentiator.
