Location
Remote work from anywhere between UTC-5 and UTC3 time zones. Satellogics office locations include Buenos Aires Barcelona Montevideo Cordoba (ARG)
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally to company offices laboratories client sites potential clients or suppliers as needed. This role will also require travel to our laboratory in Uruguay.
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and curious Semisenio Financial Analyst to join our finance this role you will be the engine room of our financial operationssupporting the preparation of budgets maintaining our planning systems and providing the data-driven insights that guide our leadership. This is an ideal role for someone who loves numbers is eager to master financial modeling and wants to leverage AI tools to modernize traditional finance workflows.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Reporting Support
Model Maintenance: Own the preparation maintenance and continuous improvement of the annual budget rolling forecasts and long-range financial model; proactively identify modeling gaps and enhance structural integrity
Monthly Reporting: Compile and format monthly quarterly and annual financial reports for internal distribution; ensure accuracy of data inputs and outputs.
Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis versus budget and prior periods; independently identify root causes articulate key performance drivers and surface actionable insights for decision-makers
Planning: Take an active lead in managing and optimizing the internal planning tool (Adaptive Planning) including system configuration user support and process improvements to enhance FP&A efficiency.
2. Business Partnering & Data Analysis
Cross-Functional Support: Serve as Finance contact for Accounting Engineering Commercial and Operations teams; translate business activity into financial terms and ensure models reflect operational reality.
KPI Tracking: Design own and continuously improve financial dashboards and KPI frameworks that provide leadership with real-time visibility into business performance
Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to ad hoc data requests from senior finance team members preparing clear summaries and tables to support decision-making.
AI & Automation: Identify design and implement AI-powered and automation solutions to modernize FP&A workflows reduce manual effort and increase reporting speed and accuracy.
3. Treasury & Operations Support
Cash Management: Own the preparation and analysis of weekly and monthly global cash position reports; provide forward-looking liquidity insights and recommendations to the Treasury team.
FX Monitoring: Monitor and analyze multi-currency exposures across global entities; proactively identify material FX risks and partner with senior finance on mitigation strategies.
Banking support: Serve as the primary operational relationship manager with banking partners ensuring smooth day-to-day banking operations and leading the resolution of complex inquiries.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field (or final year of study).
Experience: 26 years of relevant experience in FP&A corporate finance accounting investment banking or a related internship.
Excel Skills: Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP basic modeling); exposure to financial modeling is a plus.
Google Suite: Proficiency in Google Workspace with a focus on advanced data modeling in Sheets. Proven ability to leverage cloud-based collaboration tools to streamline cross-functional workflows and maintain secure organized Drive ecosystems
Analytical and Research Mindset: Comfortable working with large datasets; strong attention to detail and accuracy required to develop clear structured narratives that effectively advise leadership.
Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present numbers in a simple structured way.
GAAP Awareness: Solid working knowledge of US GAAP including revenue recognition accruals depreciation and public company reporting requirements.
What we value
Experience supporting SEC filings earnings releases or investor relations in a public company environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence without direct authority.
Passion for aerospace satellite technology defense or high-tech industries.
Experience building or scaling FP&A automation using AI tools Python or BI platforms (e.g. Looker Power BI Tableau).
Proficiency in Spanish and English.
High ownership mentality intellectual curiosity and the ability to thrive in ambiguity in a global remote-first environment.
