Sr Material Program Specialist
Job Summary
Primary Function of Position
- Provides strategic leadership across multiple product families and/or business units ensuring robust endtoend material readiness and crossfunctional alignment to support operational execution. The role is responsible for gathering evaluating and presenting procurement and material insights that inform SIOP alignment buildplan amendments SOE reviews productionstatus assessments and cleartobuild analyses.
- This position oversees Global Procurement deliverables supporting manufacturing line transfers and newplant readiness ensuring crossfunctional project milestones supplychain requirements and risk mitigation plans are aligned with MSRB PMO and other functional partners.
- The role also establishes standards for processes tools and reporting mechanisms that govern material readiness and benchmarks external best practices to define an internal roadmap for the evolution of the Materials Program Management function.
Essential Job Duties
Leadership and Organizational Management
- May lead a team of Material Program Managers/Specialists providing coaching performance management and daytoday guidance to drive operational excellence.
- Assigns responsibilities across multiple product portfolios and/or business units ensuring coverage of critical workflows escalation pathways and readiness reviews.
- Partners with functional leaders in Procurement Planning Supplier Engineering Manufacturing Finance and Program Management to align priorities and organizational expectations.
CrossFunctional Leadership
- Represents Global Procurement in enterprise operational forums; prepares and delivers consolidated materials and procurement insights supporting SIOP buildplan updates SOE reviews productionstatus assessments and CTB readiness.
- Oversees procurement-readiness deliverables supporting manufacturing line transfers and newsite readiness by aligning schedules readiness criteria risk registers and transfer/milestone requirements.
Material Readiness and Master Data Governance
- Ensures effective planning and setup of component materials across multiple product portfolios including DTP readiness BOM/SAP masterdata accuracy and enterprise-wide dataintegrity standards.
- Oversees governance mechanisms to maintain highquality data across planning systems ensuring consistency auditability and businessrule alignment.
- Leads procurementrelated support for lifecycle transitions from NPI into volume manufacturing ensuring production readiness and crossfunctional alignment.
Risk Management Health Reviews and Compliance
- Owns BUlevel and productfamily inventoryhealth performance including daysofsupply coverageprofile (CP) adherence and compliance metrics.
- Directs materialhealth and compliance assessments to identify supply constraints capacity exposures supplierexecution risks and dataquality issues.
- Collaborates with Supplier Engineering and Sourcing to evaluate supplier capacity vs. demand validate constraints and drive riskmitigation and capacityexpansion proposals.
- Provides seniorlevel recommendations on planningparameter changes masterdata corrections supplyassurance strategies and demandplanning improvements.
Reporting Tools Standards and Continuous Improvement
- Develops and delivers executivelevel dashboards narratives readiness reviews and risk summaries for leadership.
- Owns the development standardization and adoption of tools and processes used for CTB assessments readiness tracking materialhealth reviews and procurementrelated workflows.
- Benchmarks external best practices and works with COEs/IT to refine or scale systems reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Defines and maintains the longterm roadmap for the Materials Program Management function ensuring scalability to meet future product complexity volume growth and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Experience
Functional Skills
- Expertlevel ERP/MRP proficiency: Advanced mastery of SAP or comparable systems including planningparameter architecture MRP exception strategy effectivity management BOM governance and crossplant supply modeling.
- SIOP and strategic planning expertise: Deep experience interpreting SIOP signals analyzing supply/demand gaps across multiple product lines and shaping crossfunctional decisionmaking.
- Material readiness leadership: Proven ability to manage readiness for line transfers NPI ramp sustaining production and multisite operational transitions.
- Advanced risk assessment: Expertise in suppliercapacity modeling E&O forecasting constraint identification and scenario planning for highcomplexity portfolios.
- Operational execution support: Strong understanding of manufacturing requirements changemanagement workflows (ECOs) and plantreadiness criteria across global operations.

Required Education and Training
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Engineering Operations or related discipline plus 10 years of experience in purchasing materials planning or supplychain roles in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device preferred).
- Masters degree or equivalent seniorlevel training preferred.
- Demonstrated professional history of leading highperforming teams.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM CPIM PMP are preferred.
Working Conditions
- Approximately 20% travel required to domestic and international supplier sites as well as Intuitive manufacturing locations.
