The Job:

The Sales Director is responsible for leading the sales organization in Colombia developing and executing strategies to achieve revenue market share and profitability targets. This role manages the sales team key account relationships and distribution channels ensuring alignment with the companys commercial objectives. The Sales Director collaborates closely with marketing e-commerce supply chain and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

Establish a Winning Sales Strategy

  • Know the Companys IBP and set concrete plans to meet it.
  • Build strong relationships with core customers by fostering direct communication channels with General Managers per customer
  • Implement and deploy the sales monitoring methodology designed by the company.

Effective Business Planning

  • Distribute the management of the teams guaranteeing coverage of their territories.
  • Regularly monitor KPIs to track the progress of business plans.
  • Coordinates with Marketing Ecommerce and Supply to give visibility to sales plans and delivery needs

Channel and Customer Knowledge

  • Owns and manages all channels annual plan (OP/Forecast/IBP) to identify deviations and make adjustments.
  • Analyze the margin by channel and customer looking for a balance between sales and profitability.
  • Owns the strategy to improve the sell-out of SBD customers and partner with the Marketing team to develop them.
  • Has deep knowledge in SBDs portfolio and products.

Excellence in Execution

  • Tracks your teams sales compliance daily and weekly to ensure execution at the regional level.
  • Evaluate the impact of execution on sales. Sticking to the OP/IBP per client.
  • Coordinate point-of-sale audits to identify opportunities for increased sell-out.
  • Propose improvements to processes established by SBD to improve sell in/sell out.
  • Fully adheres to the SBD Code of Conduct for any business practice.

Sustainable and Profitable Growth

  • Ensure implementation of SBD-approved discount policies by balancing Sales and margin in your region.
  • Monitor profitability by customer/channel in accordance with OP/IBP.
  • Propose commercial investments that allow an increase in sales/margin in their region.
  • Ensure growth of key customers in Colombia without using commercial incentives.

Integrated Customer Relationships and Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with key decision makers in the main customers.
  • Promote long-term business relationships with key customers based on profitability and sustainable sales.
  • Directly resolve conflicts or complex situations with clients and accompanies his/her own team in this management.
  • Promote collaboration between its customers and the SBD internal teams: Marketing Finance Supply Collections Operations Customer Service.
  • Represents the company at customer events/forums under the participation guidance defined by SBD.

Effective Negotiation Selling

  • Lead negotiations with strategic clients in Colombia and closely monitor the commercial management of his team with them.
  • Analyze and propose business scenarios that require additional approvals within SBD.
  • Coach and give feedback to his/her team on business skills and give timely feedback for your team to improve their skills.

New Sources of Growth

  • Commercial strategy building to duplicate our business size in the following 5 years

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in business administration engineering or related field; MBA or postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (7 years) in sales direction roles within the tools hardware or industrial sectors.
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Goal-oriented organized team player self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • In-depth understanding of clients and their position in the industry
  • Experience managing large sales teams and key accounts.
  • Excellent negotiation communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales forecasting and data-driven decision making.
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting pipeline management and performance analysis.
  • Ability to manage budgets set targets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in a multinational environment is a plus.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency required.
  • Experience in matrixed multinational companies
