Our BC offices are building another new team! This exciting initiative will bring together highly skilled data scientists architects and developers to deliver an innovative solution to a client in the Public sector. We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to work with this team.

The Technical Architect serves as the enterprise technical authority responsible for cloud and infrastructure architecture technology strategy and advisory services. The role guides management and technical teams on solution alternatives risk assessments cost-benefit analysis and sourcing decisions while delivering secure scalable and integrated Azure-based solutions aligned to business objectives.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture & Advisory

. Advise clients on technology strategy product evaluations risk and cost optimization for current and future IT infrastructure
. Develop enterprise architecture roadmaps governance frameworks and organization-wide policies
. Assess business and infrastructure requirements; translate them into scalable service and infrastructure designs
. Provide input into project impact assessments and procurement strategies

Solution Design & Integration

. Design end-to-end Azure solutions across applications data integration and infrastructure (including AKS App Services API Management Functions Azure SQL/Cosmos DB Storage and Networking)
. Ensure cross-platform compatibility and integration with corporate services (network hosting workstation infrastructure)
. Evaluate technologies lead proof-of-concepts validate product compatibility and define testing approaches
. Provide architectural guidance to application database and development teams

Security Governance & Delivery Enablement

. Identify security risks and define architectures aligned to Zero Trust and Azure best practices
. Establish governance controls (RBAC Azure Policy resource organization standards)
. Enable DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices (Azure DevOps GitHub Actions Bicep ARM Terraform)
. Architect enterprise integration solutions using Azure Integration Services

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 8 years in enterprise architecture or senior technical roles
. Deep Microsoft Azure expertise (IaaS PaaS serverless networking security)
. Experience in risk assessment cost analysis and enterprise solution evaluation
. Strong background in cloud-native architecture integration patterns and DevOps practices
. Client-facing or consulting architecture experience

Preferred

. Azure certifications (Solutions Architect Expert DevOps Engineer Expert)
. Experience with modernization enterprise data platforms identity (Entra ID) and hybrid/multi-cloud environments

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85000 - $160000.

Use of the term architect in this job posting refers to the technical sense related to Information Technology (IT) and does not imply that the individual practices architecture or possesses the requisite license as prescribed by the applicable provincial or territorial architect regulator. We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT architect-related functions but licensure from an architect regulator is not a prerequisite for this position. Architecture is a regulated profession in Canada which is restricted in terms of use of titles and designation.
