The West Memphis School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Jr. High Science Teacher.
JOB GOAL:
To structure the learning environment to study the science program outlined by the West Memphis School District Curriculum Guidesand Arkansas Department of Workforce Education curriculum frameworks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university.
- Valid Arkansas teaching certificate in Middle School Science or be eligible to receive one.
All certified personnel shall hold a current valid Arkansas teaching license in the instructional area(s) assigned by district administration as required by law or be eligibleto receive a current Arkansas teaching license. All professional personnel employed by the West Memphis School District must possess qualifications set forth by the State Department of Education.
Duties:
1. Have responsibility for overseeing all phases of the educational program for students.
2. Assist in program and curriculum development.
3. Attend all educational events for the assigned building.
4. Submit requests for necessary materials supplies and equipment in advance using the outlined requisition procedures.
5. Be respectful in all interactions with parents students and fellow faculty members.
6. Evaluate students on progress and report results to parents.
7. Submit required reports and forms to the principal in a timely manner.
8. Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
9. Provide students with quality feedback.
10. Report to and perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
