Business Intelligence Developer

The role

Were seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to join our Strategy Planning and Performance (SPP) team on a 6-month contract. This role will support the delivery of a key data project while also contributing to the day-to-day operation of our BI environment.

Youll work at the intersection of data technology and stakeholders - helping translate complex data into meaningful insights that inform decision-making across the University.

What youll do:

• Develop maintain and enhance BI solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
• Collect transform and analyse data to support reporting and decision-making
• Work closely with technical and analytical teams to deliver robust user-friendly insights
• Support the delivery of data projects ensuring high-quality and accessible data outputs
• Contribute to user training documentation and the uplift of self-service BI capability
• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions
• Support BAU reporting and analytics activities within the SPP team

This fixed term position is full time for 6 months at a HEW6 Higher Education Worker leveland is based at Callaghan

About you

• Experience in Business Intelligence development ideally with Power BI
• Exposure to (or strong interest in learning) Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical audiences
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative approach to delivery
• Ability to manage competing priorities across both project and operational work
