Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep Social Studies Department seeks an experienced collaborative energetic and positive educator to teach AP US History and College Prep History. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:
- 5 years of experience teaching AP-level courses specifically APUSH;
- Trained in AP courses through the College Board;
- Experience with a wide range of instructional strategies that are tailored to meet the needs and strengths of each student;
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive relationships with students;
- Willingness to work with a team of teachers to develop and present engaging student-centered lessons and assessments;
- Incorporate various modes of technology into lesson plans;
- Proactive in maintaining open communication with parents counselors deans learning specialists and other staff;
- Dedicated to being a lifelong learner in the art and science of teaching young adults;
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student and is dedicated to their academic social- emotional and spiritual growth;
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree plus active Illinois PEL
College Board trained to teach APUSH
MA/MS in the content area or MEd. is preferred
