We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Specifications Writer to support our Technical Design team in a full-time on-site role based in Dallas. This position requires a strong technical background excellent judgment and a commitment to producing clear accurate and well-coordinated construction specifications across a broad range of project types.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials assemblies and systems
Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
Conduct product research analysis and comparative evaluations
Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
Serve as a technical mentor and resource for design staff
Job requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering Construction Management or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
8 years of writing specifications in the design and construction industry
Experience in one or more of the following project sectors strongly preferred: commercial healthcare aviation education data centers or residential architecture
Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial
Professional licensure or credential required (Registered Architect CSI CCS or CSI CCCA)
