Job Opportunity: Confirmed Functional Analyst

Location: Brussels (Hybrid Remote Option) Duration: 9 Months (ASAP until 31/12/2026) Type: Full-Time

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and highly experienced Functional Analyst to join a flagship digital transformation project focused on the evolution of a major enterprise communication platform. This role is critical to the 2026 roadmap involving the development of new sending applications notification enhancements and complex lifecycle management features.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution ensuring high-quality delivery in a complex IT ecosystem.

Core Responsibilities

As a Confirmed Functional Analyst you will be responsible for the end-to-end functional lifecycle of new features and system migrations.

  • Requirements Engineering: Translate complex business needs into detailed functional specifications using UML and BPMN modeling.
  • Technical Integration: Work within high-density IT architectures involving REST/SOAP services and OAuth 2.0/OpenID security protocols.
  • Development Monitoring: Act as the functional lead during the build phase providing clarity to developers and ensuring alignment with the initial design.
  • Migration Tracking: Oversee the transition of legacy data and services to new system architectures ensuring data integrity and service continuity.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: * Define and execute comprehensive test plans.
    • Implement BDD (Behavior Driven Development) methodologies.
    • Utilize Postman for API testing and automate test cases where applicable.
  • Observability & Troubleshooting: Monitor system health and performance using Grafana analyzing logs metrics and traces to identify and resolve functional bottlenecks.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Expertise

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Functional Analysis within complex integrated IT environments.
  • Methodology: Strong proficiency in Agile Scrum environments.
  • Documentation & Tools: Advanced user of Jira Confluence and GIT.
  • Analysis Modeling: Proven ability to use UML BPMN and Mockup/Prototyping tools for visual previews.
  • Data & Backend: Proficiency in SQL (complex queries) and a solid understanding of Java-based environments.

Security & Integration

  • Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0 OpenID and OWASP security standards.
  • Experience with REST APIs and SOAP (ONION architecture).

Observability & Testing

  • Hands-on experience with Grafana and observability frameworks (logs metrics traces).
  • Expertise in Test Automation and monitoring execution plans.

Language Requirements

  • French: Native level.
  • Dutch: Active working knowledge.
  • English: Active working knowledge.
