Location: This position is based in Charlottesville VA and is primarily on-site. We are looking for someone who wants to be an active part of the local office team and community.

Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and have 2 years of civil litigation experience.

Job Description

• Handle a wide range of civil litigation matters from case development through resolution.
• Draft pleadings motions briefs discovery requests discovery responses and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide thoughtful analysis on case strategy and client matters.
• Participate in hearings depositions mediations negotiations and trial preparation.
• Work closely with partners associates paralegals and staff to move cases forward efficiently.
• Communicate with clients opposing counsel courts and other parties in a professional and responsive manner.
• Support complex litigation strategy while continuing to develop your own litigation skills and judgment.
• Contribute to a professional team-oriented environment that values integrity hard work and client service.

Qualifications

• Virginia Bar license required.
• 2 years of civil litigation experience required.
• Strong legal writing research and analytical skills.
• Experience with pleadings discovery motions hearings depositions or trial preparation.
• Ability to work well with attorneys staff clients and outside parties.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment.
• Hardworking energetic detail-oriented and committed to high-quality legal work.
• Interest in challenging litigation matters and long-term professional growth.
