Learns about the scientific approach to research questions records laboratory data in an established format and performs simple standard laboratory research procedures

• Learn and adhere to lab safety standards policies and protocols
• Under direction of Investigator works with lab staff to learn laboratory procedures specific to aims of research
• Carries out independent reading relevant to research being observed or performed
• Generates clear and complete records of experimental work
• Communicates results at research meetings
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
• Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
• Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures

Education

• Enrolled in college with an emphasis on science curriculum. required

Experience

• High school level courses in biology chemistry or equivalent scientific discipline required
• With increased responsibility college level courses in similar disciplines required
• Future career focus on biological sciences desired

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Ability to carry out experiments and tasks by following established guidelines required
• Strong detail orientation required
• Effective organizational and communication skills required
