Role Overview
As Harvey scales its pre-sales function across EMEA we are hiring a Legal Engineer Manager to lead and grow the team in London. This role exists to provide senior leadership and strategic direction to a team of Legal Engineers who sit at the heart of Harveys commercial motion - bringing legal credibility product expertise and consultative support to law firm and in-house prospects.
Harveys Legal Engineers are skilled lawyers from top-tier law firms who apply their legal experience to ensure that current and prospective customers understand how Harveys solutions enhance specific day-to-day workflows working alongside Harveys Account Executives to support all aspects of our sales strategy. Legal Engineers build consultative relationships with law firm partners and associates and in-house attorneys at private equity firms and Fortune 500 companies becoming trusted advisors on how Harveys AI solutions can make them more effective.
Similar to the way Solutions Architects secure the technical win in the sales process Legal Engineers secure the legal win by performing in-depth customer discovery and education on Harveys solutions through targeted meetings and demos that resonate with the customers day-to-day workflows specific to their legal practice area.
Legal Engineers utilize their experience practicing law and their legal mindset to ask thoughtful questions to understand the needs of law firm and in-house attorneys develop credibility and then partner with Account Executives to educate them on Harveys value via large and small group sessions as well as one-to-one conversations.
What Youll Do
Lead coach and develop a team of Legal Engineers setting clear performance expectations and building a high-trust high-output team culture
Own the quality and consistency of Harveys pre-sales legal engineering function ensuring demos discovery conversations and deal support are delivered to the highest standard
Partner closely with Account Executives and GTM leadership to prioritise pipeline develop deal strategy and support conversion on complex or strategic opportunities
Engage with lawyers at prospective customers to understand and address their workflow challenges
Collaborate with Product and Marketing to ensure the teams field insights are feeding into positioning roadmap and go-to-market strategy
Lead product demonstrations tailored to the context of various law firm practice groups and in-house legal teams asking questions to validate how Harvey can add value and then showcasing Harveys features and benefits relevant to each prospective clients potential use cases.
Act as the Voice of the Customer using your legal perspective to help the broader sales team to develop and implement more effective strategies and synthesize customer feedback for the product team through a legal lens.
Travel may be required from time to time including visits to customer office locations and company offices.
What You Have
Qualified lawyer with 7 PQE with experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment
Must have prior experience managing a team with a track record of developing talent and driving performance
Deep familiarity with legal technology and AI tools with an ability to quickly develop and demonstrate platform expertise
Strong commercial instincts and the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders at law firms and in-house legal teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience running training workshops or client-facing product sessions
Comfort operating in a fast-paced high-growth environment with a pragmatic solutions-oriented approach
