Job Description
Under general supervision the Youth Security Supervisor will provide direct supervision support coaching and mentoring Youth Program Specialist on the afternoon shift.
Controls the daily operation of the YRTC-Hastings facility.
Administers facility rules and regulations to ensure youth on and off campus activities/events are conducted in an acceptable proper manner including but not limited to medication administration youth movements school recreation groups and meals.
Oversees health sanitation safety and security standards of the facility.
Responds to and handles crisis and critical incidents communicating with Administration during non-business hours.
Completes disciplinary investigations for validity and due process.
Establishes and leads the command center during crisis situations until Administration can respond and take lead.
Communicates with law enforcement agencies when needed.
Works closely and communicates with other departmental personnel to ensure safety and good order of the facility.
Consults with staff on youth behaviors and to identify possible solutions to work related problems.
Conducts security searches to minimize contraband at the facility. Completes reports and documentation pertinent to facility operations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in: social work criminal justice counseling and guidance human development and the family psychology behavioral health care education social/behavioral sciences delinquency prevention or related area. Experience leading coordinating directing monitoring and/or supervising others.
Other: Valid drivers license and high school diploma.
Work Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift 2 consecutive days off each week
This position requires proficiency in English including the ability to read write speak and comprehend the language effectivel
