Fabrication Technician

Machine and Saw Operators are responsible for operating finishing machines and execute finish fabrication for projects including but not limited to assembly specialty builds saw and cutting machines etc. to create high-quality production based on clients specifications. The Machine and Saw Operator is responsible for accurately cutting materials to specified dimensions ensuring quality standards are met and maintaining equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up adjust and operate equipment to cut materials including metal to specifications
• Organize and package completed pieces per order
• Read and interpret work orders blueprints and measurement tools
• Inspect materials for defects and ensure precise cuts to minimize waste
• Collaborate with management and other operators to ensure deadlines are met
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
• Ensures good housekeeping practices are followed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization
• Ability to read interpret and process work orders and instructions
• Has basic computer and math skills
• Previous experience with hand tools
• Ability to read and use a tape measure
• Must be self-motivated reliable quality and safety oriented
• Ability to handle workload in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Attention to detail and ability to problem solve

Physical Requirements

• Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing pulling reaching lifting squatting kneeling and bending
• Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Requires fine motor hand and arm movement manual dexterity and coordination
• Requires near visual acuity
• Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
• Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
• Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances

Work Environmental Factors

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials. A production employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
