POSITION OVERVIEW:
Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting for aJourneypersonCommercial Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanicto work at our Edmonton Albertalocation (4403 68 Ave Edmonton AB).This role offers the opportunity to further develop expertise in refrigeration system service installation troubleshooting and maintenance while contributing to a collaborative safety-focused environment. Rates are determined based on experience and tenure. The pay range for Journeypersons are $53.89 to $59.17 per hour(depending on years of experience and supplemental rates/premiums). Dual ticket premiums will also apply.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE & OPERATIONAL DUTIES(Weighting 60%)
System Maintenance Repair and Installation
- Installation of welded threaded and/or brazed refrigeration piping systems.
- Conduct start-ups inspections troubleshooting and preventative maintenance for refrigeration/HVAC systems resolving system issues as needed.
- Complete regulatory paperwork regarding refrigerant release ABSA CFIA etc.
Problem Resolution
- Troubleshoot refrigeration/HVAC electrical control systems and perform necessary repairs.
- Perform all work in compliance with the Quality Control and Health & Safety program.
- Take on additional duties as required to support job functions.

- Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork and reports to facilitate prompt invoicing and support customer and company needs

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journeyman certification or equivalent in HVAC refrigeration mechanics.
- Basic computer skills required (MS Office Applications)
- Class A Gas Fitting Electrician/Sheetmetal and/or Hydronic experience is an asset
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through on-the-job training.
- Class 5 Drivers License with a clean Drivers Abstract
- Ability to work independently and on-call.
- Ability to work out of town. Travel and overnight stays may be required from time to time.
