Senior Pump Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Receive disassemble inspect repair paint package/prepare for shipment API centrifugal pumps as well as other related rotating equipment
• Assist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirements
• Monitor progress of repairs and assign and guide shop personnel to complete those repairs
• Serve as one of the most experienced tradesman in the shop
• Set the positive leadership tone and behavior
• Interact with customers in a positive way showing them how DXP cares about their business
• Assist the Supervisor in the execution of all work

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience working in a pump repair shop facility with previous experience repairing API centrifugal pumps and other related rotating equipment prepared
• Experience repairing API/Engineered pumps creating details and making technical decisions
  In-depth understanding of API 610 and other applicable standards
• Ability to read pump sectional machine drawings and OEM pump manuals
• Disassembly inspection ability to write up a detailed rotating equipment report to all necessary repairs and or replacement parts needed (Examples: assembly prep assembly pneumatic pressure testing of assembled equipment painting of finished repair and final inspection)
• Safely use hand power pneumatic and hydraulic tools
• Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment
• Ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings mechanical seal removal installation and pneumatic pressure testing preferred
• Ability to work with multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision
• Education: High School Diploma or GED

• Physical Demand:Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Working Conditions:Must be able to work in a shop environment without AC and heat with possible exposure to dirt heat and noise
