A successful candidate will have at least three years of recent California litigation experience; insurance defense highly preferred.
Job Overview: This position will provide attorney support by performing a variety of legal tasks including preparing and finalizing documents calendaring handling litigation filings managing case files and assisting with client communication. The position is non-exempt. A remote schedule of one day per week may be available after first 90 days in office. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills is well-organized detail-oriented with a proactive approach to handling their workload. Dependability and reliability are crucial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in preparing finalizing serving and filing legal documents including pleadings motions and discovery requests.
Maintain and organize case files ensuring that all relevant documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
Prepare and manage correspondence including emails letters and other written communications to clients courts and opposing counsel.
Assist in trial preparation.
Communicate with clients witnesses and other parties involved in cases as needed.
Calendar filing deadlines and court dates ensuring deadlines are met.
Perform other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years recent litigation experience as a Legal Secretary.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and legal research tools.
Strong understanding of state and federal court processes including e-filing court rules forms calendaring pleadings discovery procedures and trial preparation.
Familiarity with legal terminology processes and documentation.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
Strong writing and proofreading skills.
Strong work ethic and takes ownership and pride in work.

This is a full-time non-exempt position with competitive compensation and benefits. The pay range for this position is $68000 $75000 annually based on experience. Candidates with additional years of experience will be considered for a higher salary range.
