JOB SUMMARY

As part of our recent growth we are seeking an experiencedFinish Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspect aerospace parts for accuracy and compliance with requirements specifications and drawings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize a working knowledge of Skills Quality System and related procedures to advise production employees on quality requirements.
  • Determine the tools required for inspections and inspect parts accordingly.
  • Inspect adjust and verify the accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Compare parts to blueprints sketches tools and/or procedures for conformance.
  • Recommend corrective actions to bring parts into conformance.
  • Initiate rejection tags as necessary.
  • Review handling and packaging instructions and ensure compliance with those instructions.
  • Inspect work orders for accurate completion.
  • Create certifications for completed parts as required.
  • Participate in customer inquiries as directed.
  • Provide feedback and suggest improvements to the Quality System.
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to verify that product work orders purchase orders and all associated documentation correspond to part number revision quantity and quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic measuring tools such as micrometers calipers depth gauges and height gauges.
  • Ability to apply and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and drawings and recognize when parts are out of specification.
  • Functional understanding of AS9100 and NADCAP quality and process control systems.
  • Ability to prepare and complete all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance and/or rejection of inspected products.
  • Basic computer literacy in a Windows environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to move throughout the shop as needed to inspect work.
  • Knowledge of or experience working in an inclusive environment particularly with individuals with disabilities.
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read write and communicate in English through verbal communication American Sign Language or adaptive technology

SALARY DESCRIPTION

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. Skills Inc. is a self-supporting Social Enterprise and is organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit. We have three lines of business: Aerospace Manufacturing Aerospace Finishing and Business Solutions which operate in 2 locations. Skills Inc. employs over 250 people and our social mission is to train employ and serve persons with disabilities. We accomplish our mission three ways: direct hire vocational programs and services and as a resource to the community.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $27.00
