Job Summary
This position willprovidesupervision leadership and oversight of staff serving in instructional roles. Under the supervision of the Program Director theAssistant Director Educational Services willbe responsible forcoordination and supervision ofprogrammingthat supports opportunity youth ages 18-24includingcontextualized academic programming at the pre-HSElevel comprehensive High School Equivalency andwork-basedlearning and sector focused advanced trainings.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Supervise the academic service and instructionalstaff andlead all coordination andcommunicationwith the Department of Education.
Workin collaboration withdepartment managers;engaging in biweekly meetings.
Manageandcoordinateprogram schedules.
Manage day to dayinstructionaloperations classroom managementandconductclassroomobservations.
Manage and coordinate curricula design including the development of immersive differentiated project based and responsive workshops and lesson plans.
Lead professional development surrounding best practices in facilitation and classroom management for instructional staff.
Createand manage externalacademic and instructional resourcepartnershipsto support staff and participant success.
Achieve all program milestones benchmarks and credentials at required intervals.
Monitor the flow of young adults throughout program components.
Cultivate and manage relationships within OBTs interdisciplinary teamand external stakeholders.
Provideprofessional development to staff to share best practices and improve programming.
Maintain all quality assurance requirements including data integrityreportingand client data.
Assess and adjust program design to meet the needs of participants.
Participate ininternaltrainings onMotivational Interviewing(MI) andemployMIstrategies asaprimarymodality of practice.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of educationsystemsand instructional principles and best practices particularly when working withyoung adults re-entering education and workforce.
- Oversee administrative components of the program including attendance data entry Metrocard distribution and documentation and other associated tasks.
Demonstrated experience in responsive curriculum design and implementation.
Demonstrated success insupervisingleadingand developing instructional staff.
Development of programmatic systems and policies.
Ability to work with internal and external partners.
Ability to manage delegate and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to support the team to achieve program quality and program outcomes.
Education andExperience/Training
- Bachelors degreerequired; Masters preferred.
- At least threeyearsrelevant work experience.
- Experience working within or in partnership with NYC DOE a plus.
