Job Summary

Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position facilitates account provisioning deprovisioning and access management for a variety of enterprise applications.

Department Overview:

The OIT Accounts department acts as the central authority for identity and access management at Boise State. Its role is critical to ensuring that users have the right access at the right time while maintaining security compliance and operational efficiency across university systems.

OIT Identity and Access Management team is responsible for adding removing and updating individuals and their roles in the many Enterprise Applications supported at Boise State.

This position will work 30 hours per week.

Level Scope:

Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage account provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Receive and process requests for account provisioning modification and deprovisioning.
  • Coordinate with service providers regarding approval and implementation of access.
  • Coordinate with data stewards regarding approval and implementation of access to PeopleSoft systems.
  • Review current account and application security to ensure that system access is correct clear and efficient.
  • All security Roles and data restrictions must be documented on an ongoing basis and available to data stewards.
  • Respond to requests from Data Stewards campus audit and advisory services State and Federal auditors security review.
  • Work with campus departments to define new security and access where aid is needed.
  • Research and recommend policies and procedures to protect information assets from unauthorized or accidental modification destruction or disclosure. Identify collect analyze interpret and assist in the reporting of security metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of application security.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational database systems and tools such as SQL and SQL query tool(s) such as Oracle SQL Plus.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) interpersonal organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics problems alternative solutions to others.
  • Knowledge of or experience in a higher education or government organization working with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of or experienced in analytical and troubleshooting skills with complex technical subjects and tasks.
  • Knowledge of or experience in security design and setup.
  • Knowledge of or experience with state and federal regulations around identity management.
  • Ability to determine when to escalate or implement certain levels of risk mitigation.

MinimumQualifications:

Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience. Prefer degree concentration in: Computer Information Systems Management Information Systems Computer Science Technical Writing or Business.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of system integrations data flows and user account lifecycle management across platforms such asOracle HCM PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Canvas and Entra ID.
  • Experience supporting or troubleshooting business applications in a higher education or similar environment.

Salary and Benefits:

Starting salary for this 30-hours a week position is $37549.20 annually and is commensurate with State University provides a best-in-classbenefits package including (but not limited to):
