Job Summary
Canyonlands By Night & Day in Moab UT is looking for a part-time Boat Captain. We are a seasonal business located on 1861 N. Hwy 191. Our ideal candidate is attentive punctual and hard-working. Wage depends on experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel on the Colorado River
- Provide a superb guest experience greet guests set the tone for the cruise ensure a positive experience
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Maintain accurate cruise records
- Aid in training and development of crew members
- Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays
- Coordinate reporting and completion of any and all necessary repairs with maintenance personnel
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vessel at all times including helping in the cleaning process when necessary
- Report any and all incidents of maritime casualty or security discrepancy in a timely manner
- Keeping an accurate daily log of passenger counts
- Reinforce the importance of safety and situational awareness in a professional environment
Qualifications
- Must have Boat Captains License or be willing to do training and pass the exam.
- Friendly demeanor with excellent customer service skills
- First Aid and CPR Certification (can arrange class if you dont have or need a refresher).
- Pre-employment and random drug testing as required by company policies.
- Availability to work nights and occasional afternoons.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and walk stairs to and from the dock.
- Good night vision a necessity!
