Java Technical Lead

We are looking for a Java Technical Expert who will act as a trusted advisor to the client. This is not a project management or team-lead role; instead the focus is on technical leadership client guidance and team development.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Provide advanced technical guidance in Java related frameworks and lead teams applying industry best practices.
Lead client engagements by understanding business needs guiding solution design and influencing technical direction.
Drive and contribute to development efforts including coding debugging and optimizing complex systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack.
. Mentor and coach team members through code reviews design guidance and knowledge sharing.
. Promote and enforce best practices in software development architecture and quality standards.
. Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to ensure alignment delivery quality and technical excellence.
. Act as a trusted advisor to clients on architecture decisions tools selection and implementation strategies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 10 years of proven software development experience developing enterprise solutions
. 6 years of hands-on experience in developing Web services and API solutions using various Java-based frameworks
. 5 years of experience managing relationships with clients and stakeholders
. Team leadership experience
. Proficient in Java J2EE Spring MVC and JavaScript.
. Proficient in relational database management systems Mybatis and Oracle DB queries.
. Proficient in Web User Interface (UI) using HTML4/HTML5 CSS2/CSS3 XHTML JSP JavaScript jQuery XML JSON SOAP REST services
. Strong knowledge of Domain Driven design & MicroService Architecture
. Strong knowledge of API design including versioning isolation and micro-services
. Experience in testing frameworks like Junit.
. Knowledge in DevOps processes continuous integration and delivery pipelines (Maven Jenkins Stash Ansible Docker)

THIS ROLE IS BASED IN VANCOUVER BC AND IS NOT OPEN TO REMOTE OPTIONS.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level geographic market experience and training and licensure and certification. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range in British Columbia is $70000 - $140000.
