Distribution Manager

Job Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Note: Other duties may be assigned)
- Accountable for leading the distribution staff to deliver business results needed to meet Business Plan objectives while maintaining the desired Vera Bradley work culture.
- Evaluate and adjust available warehouse and distribution capacity and planned requirements in order to maintain balance between the two
- Schedule distribution work centers including pick pack and ship.
- Collaborate with Operations management to ensure Distribution operates according to established Vera Bradley operations/order policies
- Monitor and communicate to the Distribution Team all department metrics including on-time performance; fulfillment rate; safety; productivity and customer returns. Focus on improving these metrics.
- Responsible for the layout of the finished goods materials bin locations
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Responsible for the execution of lean manufacturing techniques throughout the entire Distribution group
- Document and maintain Distribution procedures
- Collaborate with customer service and materials planning and allocations to ensure priorities are in alignment with the needs of the business
- Active member of the operations planning team
- Maintain consistent administration of company policies and adherence to the company handbook across all shifts
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years supervisory or management experience in manufacturing/distribution environment to include experience with production theory pull systems and synchronous manufacturing
- Basic understanding of Vera Bradley shipping process and current product offerings preferred
- Basic understanding of Vera Bradley cutting and scheduling systems and technologies preferred
- Windows based PC experience with strong skills in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook including advanced skills in spreadsheet database and graphing applications
- Knowledge of automation systems ILS and SAP software systems preferred.

- Ability to work well under pressure
- Experience with several of the following: Six Sigma continuous improvement kaizen supply chain lean JIT or kanban.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree required. MBA/MS in business or related field strongly preferred. Industrial Engineering experience also a plus.

- Industrial environment utilizing an office desk and computer sitting reading listening and speaking. Occasional walking standing reaching and bending.

Base Pay Range:
$89900.00 - $134900.00Vera Bradleys compensation ranges are based on market data and comply with all local state and federal regulations. Individual pay within the listed range depends on work location skills experience and relevant education. The posted salary reflects base pay only and excludes bonuses equity or other incentives if applicable.
