Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief of Police the Manager of Police Administrative Services serves as a senior member of the University Police Department leadership team and directs all administrative fiscal accreditation human resources and technology coordination functions of the department. The position ensures regulatory compliance fiscal integrity operational efficiency and alignment with university priorities while supervising the Administrative Services Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- CSULB PD Accreditation: Provides leadership and direct supervision of the Accreditation program.
- Police Administrative Operations: Directs and evaluates the administrative division of the Police Department through subordinate managers; develops and implements management controls and reviews systems for managing operations effectively; evaluates and reviews facilities use and recommends modifications.
- Community Service Officer (CSO) & Intern Program Management: Manages all aspects of the CSO and Intern Program including hiring supervision operations scheduling coordination equipment uniforms vehicles mentoring and coaching with the support of assigned Corporal CSO Program Liaison.
- Budget & Financial Management: Oversees the execution and management of contractual agreements for CSULB PD as primary liaison with campus partners such as purchasing and procurement.
- Human Resources: Administer UPD Human Resources functions including managing of: recruitments employee relations payroll workers compensation position management and various employment processes. Serve as the liaison with Human Resources Management for all other HR Employee Relations Payroll Workers Compensation and Benefits related issues.

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $6589 - $8166 per month commensurate with candidates education experience skills and training.

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Financial Management Criminal Justice Public Policy or related field.
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative or management experience.
Demonstrated experience in supervision budget development fiscal analysis and compliance management.
Experience maintaining CALEA or IACLEA accreditation preferred.
Must successfully complete background investigation. Must comply with CSU Mandated Reporter requirements.
May be required to respond during campus emergencies. On-site position.
Access to confidential and sensitive information. Authority to commit financial resources and approve expenditures.
Licenses / Certificates
Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation including LiveScan fingerprinting.
Valid California Drivers License required

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSULB will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Due to the nature of this position current CSULB employees are subject to a criminal record check unless they have successfully completed a criminal background check through CSULB within the past 12 months.
The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21 2017 as a condition of employment.
Conflict of Interest: The duties of this position will include participation in decisions that may have a material financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore the selected candidate will be required to file Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis complete ethics training within 6 months of appointment and attend this training every other year thereafter.
