Communications Associate (Texas)

Job Location: Candidates must reside in Texas and be available for on-site work. Preference will be given to those located in Austin though applicants from other locations will also be considered.

What You Will Do:

• Support project managers in strategic communications planning assisting with digital communications campaign management materials development and outreach activities.

• Provide administrative and logistics support across projects including managing project timelines meetings deliverables and work plans and developing meeting notes and monthly project reports.

• Coordinate communication product development working with our client creative services and digital services team to write edit and design educational and promotional materials to support a range of communication efforts.

• Support implementation of communication strategies and tactics to reach and engage audiences to increase visibility of government data resources and materials.

• Works with senior team members to provide technical support for digital library of campaign resources and monthly webinar execution and follow-up.

• Co-lead project support for the development and implementation of public health-focused social media campaigns working with paid and digital services to develop and launch campaigns on platforms including Facebook Instagram LinkedIn etc.

What You Will Bring With You:

• Bachelors degree in health communication public relations social sciences public health or equivalent required.

• 2 years of health communication marketing communications or public relations experience.

• U.S. Citizenship (required by Federal government for position)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates with 2 years of federal health and/or public relations creative or media agency experience.

• Candidates with 2 years of lived or learned experience working with HIV centered communication or community engagement programs.

• Candidates with experience coordinating the development launch and tracking of social media campaigns.

Professional Skills:

• Strong writing skills for various materials and channels; examples include short-form digital content web content social media news releases fact sheets and newsletter copy.

• Demonstrated ability to self-start and interface effectively with project team members and clients.

• Excellent interpersonal written and organizational skills with ability to prioritize manage and communicate multiple tasks at a given time.

• Ability to think creatively and contribute to solutioning clients communications challenges/problems (e.g. new influencer engagement or ways to visualize complex information).
