Job Summary

Baystate Health a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC) is looking for a part-time Patient Care Technician to join our Postpartum team in Springfield MA.

SCHEDULE:

  • Part-time 24 hours a week
  • 7am-7:30pm
  • Rotating Holidays 2-3 holidays per year

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Baystate Health Patient Care Technicians (PCT) play a hands-on role in delivering compassionate high-quality care alongside our nursing team. Under the supervision of an RN youll assist with direct patient care including hygiene mobility and vital sign monitoring.

PCTs perform a range of clinical tasks such as phlebotomy EKGs specimen collection and Point of Care testing. This role also includes assisting with procedures patient transport equipment management and supporting emergency response protocols.

Strong communication teamwork and a commitment to patient safety are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position is part of a career ladder and hiring level determined by Recruitment.

  • Level I:

-PCT training or CNA training preferred

-BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association required

  • Level II:

- High School diploma or GED

-at least one year of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care specialty acute care etc.)

- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association required

  • Level III:

-High School diploma or GED

-Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care specialty acute care etc.) experience OR at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health

- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association required

  • Level IV:

- High School Diploma or GED

- 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health

- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association required

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

Typically a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidates relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

$17.01 - $21.57 - $28.08
