Open Rank – Assistant, Associate, Professor (tenure-eligible)

Job Summary:

The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is recruiting for multiple open rank tenure eligible interdisciplinary cross-cutting faculty positions across both research and clinical domains with on focus on innovation agility and excellence to improve health and save lives. Depending on the candidates qualifications research focus and alignment with program needs appointments may be made in either the Department of Clinical Pharmacy or the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences with extensive opportunities for collaboration across the CU Anschutz academic medical and health sciences campus.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collaborative academic community and bring innovative solutions to solve real world problems through research education and unique interdisciplinary approaches which have the greatest impact to translation scientific advances on saving patient lives.

As a tenure eligible faculty member candidates are expected to establish and maintain an independent externally funded research program that contributes to and enhances one or more of the Schools areas of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Research

• Conduct cuttingedge research within the chosen area of expertise to advance pharmaceutical sciences and address critical grand challenges that improve health and save lives.
• Bridge Interdisciplinary collaborations within departments School and which cut across the University of Colorado Anschutz campus to foster interdisciplinary research.
• Excellence in publication record and externally funded research which can cut across both clinical and research domains and in areas which are of the highest clinical significance and impact.

Teaching

• Contribute to graduate and postgraduate education by developing and delivering highquality contemporary coursework.

Mentorship

• Mentor graduate students postdoctoral fellows and research staff supporting their academic and professional growth.

Service

• Participate in departmental university and professional service including committees and scholarly organizations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. For additional information on the requirements to be appointed to Associate or Full Professor please review the School of Pharmacy Faculty Guidelines.

Assistant Professor

• Candidates must possess a PharmD PhD or MD or equivalent degree.

• Demonstrated expertise in one of the target areas as evidenced by a strong publication record or potential for securing extramural research funding.

Associate Professor

• Candidates must possess a PharmD PhD or MD or equivalent degree.

• Demonstrated expertise in one of the target areas as evidenced by a strong publication record or potential for securing extramural research funding.

• Meets the School of Pharmacy criteria for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.

Professor

• Candidates must possess a PharmD PhD or MD or equivalent degree.

• Demonstrated expertise in one of the target areas as evidenced by a strong publication record or potential for securing extramural research funding.

• Meets the School of Pharmacy criteria for appointment at the rank of Professor.

Preferred Qualifications (All Ranks)

• Experience in one or more of the Schools focus areas of excellence.

• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring preferably involving graduate or postgraduate students.

• A strong record of collaborative teamscience research including evidence of interdisciplinary work through publications shared projects or funding.

• Experience with large paradigm shifting center grants or

• Documented research excellence reflected in peerreviewed publications and contributions to the field.

• A successful history of securing external research funding from federal agencies foundations or industry partners.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Anticipated Pay Range:

Starting salary range by academic rank degree and experience:

Assistant Professor: $130000 to $185000

Associate Professor: $150000 to $250000

Professor: $175000 to $300000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Final salary will be determined based on academic rank specialty area qualifications years of relevant experience internal equity and available funding.

In rare circumstances compensation outside of the stated range may be considered for candidates with extraordinary qualifications or highly specialized expertise consistent with University policy and applicable law.

This position is exempt from overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act and applicable state law.
