What Youll Do

Under the direction of the Unit Manager RN Clinical Operations Coordinator and RN Service Leads you will:

• Facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures under surgeon guidance

• Maintain and monitor the sterile field

• Apply expert knowledge of aseptic technique instrumentation anatomy and surgical processes

• Anticipate surgeon needs with precision and focus

• Support minimally invasive invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

• Function confidently across multiple surgical specialties

Your ability to anticipate adapt and collaborate ensures efficient procedures and optimal patient outcomes.

Career Growth: Tech I II III

This position is part of a career ladder offering professional growth as you advance in skill experience and responsibility.

Tech I

• Associate of Science in Surgical Technology (or accredited equivalent program)

• AST Certification*

• American Heart Association BLS

• Entry-level

*Certification required for new hires without surgical facility experience prior to July 1 2013.

Tech II

• Same educational and certification requirements as Tech I

• Minimum 2 years of experience

• 1 year at BMC or 2 years comparable experience with demonstrated competency

Tech III

• Same educational and certification requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience

• 1 year of employment at Baystate Health

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered where applicable.
