Description

As a Staff Embedded Integration Engineer for Body Controls you will lead the integration optimization and technical evolution of embedded systems that enable key vehicle body functions. You will work across hardware software systems validation manufacturing and vehicle teams to deliver robust high-quality body control features throughout the full product lifecycle.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Lead the development and evolution of body controls software architecture including hardware/software interface definitions and system-level integration strategies.
  • Drive early-stage hardware and software integration ensuring body control features meet performance reliability safety and functional requirements.
  • Translate vehicle-level objectives into clear actionable software and system requirements for body control functions.
  • Use vehicle test and field data to identify opportunities for performance improvement issue resolution and system optimization.
  • Partner with validation teams to define comprehensive test strategies for body control features including component system vehicle and regression testing.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software interaction issues across development launch and post-launch phases.
  • Evaluate the impact of design changes on body control systems including software behavior electrical interfaces network communication diagnostics and system performance.
  • Support functional safety activities including DFMEA HARA fault tree analysis and safety-driven design reviews.
  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams guiding decisions across electrical software mechanical manufacturing service and validation domains.
  • Improve cross-functional understanding of system dependencies to ensure seamless integration across vehicle domains.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to best practices for embedded integration troubleshooting requirements development and system validation.


Qualifications

Youll have...

  • A bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Mechatronics Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong embedded software development experience including proficiency in C/C.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python for automation data analysis testing or tooling.
  • Experience integrating and debugging complex embedded systems involving hardware software sensors actuators and vehicle networks.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and mechatronic system behavior.
  • Experience with CAN and/or LIN communication protocols including associated development diagnostic and analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data identify root causes and drive system-level improvements.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software development lifecycles from concept through production launch and issue resolution.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts and influencing technical direction across teams.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA HARA fault tree analysis and related safety or reliability methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with body control systems such as doors liftgates trunks frunks windows seating lighting mirrors wipers heaters steering wheel controls switches sensors and actuators.
  • Experience working in vehicle software organizations or with distributed electrical/electronic architectures.
  • Hands-on experience supporting body control systems throughout the full product lifecycle including concept development validation launch field issue resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with electric vehicle platforms electrical architectures or high-voltage system interactions.
  • Familiarity with diagnostics cybersecurity over-the-air software updates service tools or production end-of-line processes.
  • Experience defining or improving requirements interface specifications test plans and integration processes.
  • A passion for automotive technology and a desire to shape the next generation of vehicle experiences.
