Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift to join our team at our Colorado Springs CO location. The ideal candidate will need to have experience in programming setup and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.

• Primary Responsibilities

• Must be capable of reading engineering drawings
• Operation of CNC lathes (primarily) provide backup operations on CNC mills and other manual equipment.
• You will be expected to set up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision finished goods within print tolerance specification.
• Use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks.
• Experience in the manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials is a plus. 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience.
• Applicants must be able to work on different projects in an ever changing rapid paced environment with little or no assistance
• Performs other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary.

• Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of experience years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Intermediate knowledge of shop math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as understand basic work instructions for product fabrication
• General knowledge skills and understanding with hand and power tools to include deburring tools wrenches etc.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment (micrometers calipers electronic height gauges etc.)
• Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds unassisted.
• Candidates must be able to work overtime when required.
• Applicants must be able to work full-time 4-days per week 10-hours per shift 2ND shift.
• US Citizenship requirement and clearance requirement

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic PC skills for data entry timecard and production time entries
