Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support surgical services in a hospital environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination sterilization preparation and distribution of surgical instruments while maintaining strict infection control and patient safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clean decontaminate and disinfect surgical instruments and medical equipment
Disassemble sort and inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality
Assemble surgical trays accurately using count sheets
Package wrap and label instruments for sterilization
Operate sterilization equipment (steam ETO Sterrad Steris washers ultrasonic cleaners)
Maintain sterilization records logs and biological testing documentation
Store and distribute sterile supplies to surgical teams efficiently
Manage inventory and restocking of surgical instruments and supplies
Follow infection control protocols and proper PPE usage at all times
Maintain a clean organized and compliant work environment
Support operating room staff by ensuring timely availability of sterile instruments
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Basic computer skills required
Strong communication skills required
Must meet one of the following: Anatomy & Physiology course completion passed Anatomy exam SPD certification or 3 years of recent SPD experience
