POSITION SPECIFICS
The purpose of Fraternity & Sorority Life at Penn State is to support the mission and goals of the university strengthen the scholarship and build the character and integrity of our members promote brotherhood sisterhood and siblinghood develop leadership engage State College through community service and philanthropic efforts and affirm personal and organizational responsibility. Reporting to the Associate Director for Community Development & Belonging this position will support chapter leaders advisors and local house corporation personnel within a fraternity and sorority community of approximately 70 chapters and 4 distinct councils.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
A willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support night and weekend activities is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Advise and develop one or more governing councils including attending regular executive board and council meetings and supporting council governance and programming.
Coach chapters across all four governing councils including regular meetings with chapter presidents recruitment officers new member educators membership development officers and philanthropy and service officers.
Collaborate with University departments to advise and support at least one community development program.
Provide guidance on the Chapter Recognition & Standards of Excellence program.
Review and discuss chapter Recruitment/Intake Plans and First Semester of Membership Plans.
Communicate and partner with chapter advisors alumni inter/national headquarters representatives and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the progress of local chapters.
Coordinate and facilitate regular chapter advisor roundtable meetings.
Hire supervise develop and evaluate graduate or undergraduate student assistants.
Assist in the development and facilitation of governing council and chapter educational programs.
Candidates must demonstrate:
Understanding of student development and health and safety issues in the fraternity and sorority community.
Commitment to upholding the Universitys values by cultivating a supportive and respectful environment.
Ability to design and deliver programs and services that promote access engagement and a sense of belonging for all students and student organizations.
Record of collaboration with students University departments inter/national headquarters and other stakeholders.
Effective communication skills including motivational interviewing advising and coaching.
Capacity to balance holding students accountable with developing positive and trusting relationships.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to resolve conflict.
Presentation and training facilitation skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree 3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position including all possible grades is $46400.00 - $67300.00.Salary Structure - Information on Penn States salary structure
