Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Transportation Infrastructure to lead the successful delivery of transportation infrastructure projects across Bristol. You will hold full responsibility for programme cost quality and health & safety ensuring efficient delivery of highways and associated works while maintaining strong relationships with clients local authorities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of delivering transportation infrastructure projects safely on programme and within budget
- Lead and coordinate site teams including Site Managers Engineers Supervisors and Foremen
- Oversee delivery of highways roads drainage and associated utility works
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients local authorities and key stakeholders
- Chair progress meetings and provide clear accurate reporting to senior leadership
- Plan and manage subcontractors labour plant and materials in line with programme requirements
- Work closely with the commercial team to manage variations valuations and overall cost control
- Ensure full compliance with health safety environmental and quality standards particularly within live traffic environments
- Monitor programme performance and proactively manage risks delays and logistical challenges
- Drive efficient delivery in line with traffic management constraints and public interface requirements
- Complete company IT systems induction and training within the first 13 months
Requirements
- 278 Works Experience a MUST
- CITB SMSTS (5-Day) or equivalent
- First Aid at Work certification
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager within transportation infrastructure or highways projects
- Strong knowledge of highways construction drainage utilities and traffic management
- Excellent leadership communication and organisational skills
- Experience managing projects in live or public-facing environments
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage costs effectively
- Reliable proactive and solution-focused approach
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Degree HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Experience delivering transportation infrastructure or highways projects valued at 5m
- NRSWA (Street Works) qualification
