Job Summary
The Assistant Program Manager (APM) will support the NDU in creating and fostering an environment that is safe therapeutic highly-structured nurturing supportive and positive for all children families staff and community resources in order to provide high quality residential treatment and integrated services. The Assistant Program Manager supports Behavior Technicians in ensuring they and the clients they serve reach their full potential through providing positive enriching and nurturing relationships and activities as well as a stable consistent safe and structured living environment. Assistant Program Managers will work a combination of in ratio and out of ratio hours each week and will focus on modeling leadership and supporting the growth of a program that seeks to embrace and empower the children served every day.

Qualifications
Programming:
Support a comprehensive unified team of staff on all shifts by providing leadership support guidance and biweekly supervision to Residential Counselors
Support the Director in coordinating programmatic logistics which includes awareness of safety and scheduling in the dorms checking in visitors planning for various appointments and passes for children supervising phone calls implementing on and off grounds activities and managing any last minute staff schedule adjustments
Actively collaborate with clinicians and/or multidisciplinary team to ensure therapeuticenvironment
Engage with and fully attend to children monitor behavior and interactions closely maintain a safe and healthy environment and meet their physical and emotional needs
Support residential counselors in planning and executing daily routine schedule and activities for assigned dorm; ensure daily schedules are adhered to and that direct care staff are actively engaging with children
Assist in the coordination of intakes and discharges
Work a combination of in ratio and out of ratio time each week providing care and support to all children served modeling proper engagement shift structure and behavior support for direct care staff.
Assist the Program Manager or Director in providing annual trainings required by licensing and regulatory bodies; collect/submit documents related including training participation/attendance logs
Participate in treatment and behavioral management plans for individual clients
Provide behavior management and crisis intervention techniques in full alignment with Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
Interface with collaterals and families providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment
Care for program facilities by ensuring that program spaces areclean and organized and that all equipment is functioning properly
Support the Program Manager in ensuring all spaces support the therapeutic purpose of programming and advocate for the needs of clients and staff with respect to all physical plant assets
Personnel:
Provide support to staff and children in debriefing any serious behavioral incidents or restraints
Act as a shift leader modeling the responsibilities related to cleanliness of dorm therapeutic environment safety supervision of the children and constant communication for Behavior Technicians
Oversee and ensure staff completion of comprehensive and accurate required documentation such as logs incidents meal reports and discharge summaries
Assist the Program Manager in interviewing hiring and disciplining of Behavior Technicians
Support on-boarding training and shadowing for Behavior Technicians
Support regularly scheduled training and regular individual and group supervision to Behavior Technicians
Apply enforce and ensure all staff are held accountable to required standards and expectations as described in the Residential Standards Handbook
Demonstrate and ensure all interactions between coworkers as well as all interactions in the presence of clients are appropriate respectful and in line with all training principles
Administration:
Support the Program Manager in the training of all assigned employees to become independent managers of their own timecards and process payroll of all assigned employees
Support the planning and creation of the agenda for weekly team meetings
Attend clinical rounds
Actively participate in supervision and professional development opportunities offered
Complete annual self-evaluation
Train and support all staff in completing all appropriate documentation for your assigned program
Obtain a MAP certification and support medication administration and documentation within your assigned program in accordance with all Medication Administration Program(MAP) policies and procedures
Minimum of 18 months experience working with children and families with at least one year of residential experience
Bachelors level degree preferred
Demonstrated commitment to supporting nurturing teaching and empowering children and employees
Demonstrated experience in ensuring the highest standard of care for children
Demonstrated ability to maintain strictest confidentiality with respect to agency employee and client information; adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; natural leadership abilities
Current MAP certification or ability to complete MAP certification within 6 months of hire
Ability to provide therapeutic physical restraints
Ability to bend reach move and lift 75 pounds
Flexible in thinking and scheduling
Strength in working collaboratively
Calm thoughtful safe and quick response to emergencies
Successful in a stressful and fast paced environment
Must be able to understand and apply principles taught in trainings and seminars to the milieu including all behavior management training
Must be receptive and responsive to supervision and professional development
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Office operations knowledge (email MS Word internet etc.)

The hourly wage for this role is $22.50-24.50 per hour USD. This number does not reflect additional compensation-related benefits such as PTO medical and life insurance EAP and the Italian Home for Children 403(b) retirement plan.
