As the Quality leader for Performance Engineering you will be responsible for driving proper focus around quality management & quality control related to Performance Engineering delivery and field management activities. You will be responsible with the functional engineering teams to drive proper containment conduct root-cause and identify corrective and preventative actions for any identified quality addition you will be responsible for identifying critical processes and drive creation of the standard work methods and processes to ensure repeatability of high quality outputs with proper governance. You will also be responsible for coaching mentoring and training the wider Performance Engineering community on Quality tools & methodology and working with the functional quality focal(s) across the organization in governance and world class quality management. The role has moderate autonomy requiring high levels of operational judgment.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Embrace and drive a culture of continuous quality improvement working in a boundary-less fashion and fostering early detection of quality issues and risks as well as promoting lean processes that drive fulfillment excellence. Drive cross functional buy in and time bound implementation improvements on tool and processes.
- Partner with HDPE ITR Engineering organization quality leaders for any cross functional quality support required for all engineering teams.
- Manage Quality related KPIs and ensure daily management proper assignment and proper monitoring for On Time Delivery First Pass Yield NCR ER and SDR resolutions as well as partnership with CTHs on Technical Risk and/or Design Review action items related to Performance quality.
- Be the QMW focal for Performance Engineering by creating the audit plans and conducting internal audits to ensure proper awareness compliance and adherence to the methods and processes
- Ensure proper focus on product quality issues by driving quality containment for Non-Conformances (NCR) issued to or by Performance Engineering.
- Identify initiate conduct and track completion of root-cause analysis (RCA) for Engineering NCRs
- Document & prioritize the Corrective and Preventative actions (CAPA) to ensure non-repeat of the NCR
- Collaborate with the functional teams to implement CAPA actions including change management and CAPA effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the functional engineering teams across Performance and applicable ITR Engineering groups to conduct kaizens for standard work methods and processes.
- Lead the team to foster & build strong relationships with Design COEs ITR Engineering Project Management and other engineering teams and functions in the first time quality fulfillment of projects.
- Drive cultural change to move from silo-thinking to a cross-functional and proactive approach
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering
- Background in thermal performance of gas turbine steam turbine or combined cycle systems
- Able to communicate in English
- Available and willing to travel as required
