Our client is a national nonprofit focused on connecting communities to the benefits of the outdoors. A leader in promoting equitable access the organization partners with communities to create parks and protect public lands where they are needed most.
As the organization continues to grow they are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support and strengthen their financial leadership. This role will play a key part in shaping the organizations financial strategy and operations overseeing budgeting forecasting and financial planning while providing strategic guidance to leadership and ensuring long-term financial stability. The position works closely with executive and program teams to support data-driven decision-making enhance organizational performance and lead the finance team.
Senior Financial Analyst Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of annual budgets multi-year financial plans and cash flow projections
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership and the board of directors
- Oversee accounting and finance operations ensuring accurate reporting strong internal controls and compliance with regulations
- Analyze financial performance identify trends and recommend actionable strategies to improve efficiency and sustainability
- Supervise mentor and develop finance team members promoting best practices and professional growth
- Collaborate with program and operational teams to align financial resources with organizational priorities
- Support audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors and financial partners
- Develop and maintain financial policies procedures and reporting dashboards
- Evaluate and implement systems and tools to streamline reporting analysis and workflow
Senior Financial Analyst Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA CMA or advanced degree preferred
- At least 6 years of progressive financial management experience ideally in nonprofit mission-driven or complex multi-fund organizations
- Proven leadership experience managing finance teams and collaborating across departments
- Strong expertise in budgeting forecasting financial modeling and strategic planning
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with accounting and ERP systems
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills able to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders
