The primary objective of this role is to verify that all nuclear tool designs meet applicable codes standards regulatory requirements and internal procedures before release. The Design Checker ensures that deliverables are technically sound complete and constructible minimizing design errors rework and risk to safety or performance. This role serves as a critical quality gate supporting nuclear safety design integrity and continuous improvement within the engineering Youll Be Doing:Examine mechanical drawings and models for accuracy completeness and clarity of overall tool designs for fit form and function using sound engineering principles tool design methods and manufacturing that designs conform to drawing standards internal design specifications as-sold quotes and customer designs for manufacturing feasibility assembly considerations and functional material selections to ensure standardization and compliance with industry inaccuracies omissions or quality concerns and communicate findings clearly to designers and design manufacturing and quality-related issues with engineering production and other cross-functional prioritize and report quality issues requiring corrective regular quality updates to the department highlighting progress and areas for in developing improving and maintaining checking procedures design standards and detailing continuous quality improvement initiatives within the Mechanical Engineering minor revisions and updates to drawings and models as and recommend quality control methods applicable to engineering and adapt best practices where cooperation and effective communication between engineering and manufacturing in training designers on detailing best practices assembly methods and manufacturing closely with the Mechanical Engineering Manager Design Team Leaders and other duties and tasks as assigned by Mechanical Engineering Technical Competencies:Must have a working knowledge of common machine shop techniquesMust have a thorough knowledge of drafting principlesSolidWorks experience is an Execution:Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAssist in preparing customer documentationAdhere to all Health and Safety rules and proceduresAbility to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safelyComplete other duties and projects as assignedWork requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and or travel as required in varying timelinesEnsure scheduled milestones are metNotify the appropriate departments if milestones are not metAdhere to the Eclipse Project Operating PolicyMaintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate VisionEnsure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc.
