DCID uses software-defined radios and FPGA technology to develop advanced communication and navigation system prototypes (GNSS PNT GPS etc.) that solve the toughest problems related to digital communication systems. DCIDs support includes guiding the acquisition of next generation communication and navigation systems needed by ourcustomer helping industry implementcutting edgetechnology and creating innovative solutions to ourcustomersmost challenging problems. Our group supports exciting programs such as the Aerospace CubeSatSlingShotPlatform development of thePayload Characterization and Environments (PACE) Lab and compete in challenges such as theBlind Signal Classification Challenge. What Youll Be Doing

Job Summary:

  • Develop and implement signal processing algorithms with applications to GPS / GNSS/Software Defined Radioreceivers and/or communication transceivers and/or digital signal processing on FPGA hardwareor in software.

  • Analysis of signal processing performance usingMatlab Python or similar simulation environments.

  • Prototype ofcutting-edgereal-time systems for emulation and proof of concept.

  • Researchpertaining toadvanced signal processing GPStechnologyand/or re-configurable communication processing.

  • Document work products in briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues.

What You Need to be Successful Aerospace internal titlei.e.Senior MTS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mastersdegree froman accredited university in Electrical EngineeringComputer Science.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience inanarea of digital signal processing and Digital Communications.

  • Proficiencywith any of the following: MATLAB C/C Python VHDL.

  • Experience with DSP algorithm design and implementation.

  • Work implementing digital communication and/or DSP algorithms in hardware using FPGAs.

  • Proficiencyin Verilog or VHDL logic implementation and simulation tools for complex FPGA designs.

  • Detailed understanding of FPGA RTL design hardware architecture testbench design synthesis static timing analysis timing closure and clock domain crossing.

  • This position requirestheability to obtain andmaintaina securityclearance which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship isto obtain a security clearance Top-Secret level with SCI access.This process will begin after the start date.

  • PhDdegree froman accredited university in Electrical EngineeringComputer Science or another related field in an area of digital signal processing GNSS positioning and navigation alternative navigation techniques.

  • ExperienceusingGNURadio USRPs and theAMD FPGAs

  • Proficient in GPU programming hardware acceleration and process parallelization

  • Skilled with RF lab equipment (spectrum analyzers network analyzers oscilloscopes)

  • Familiarwith Linux Real-Time Operating Systems and DevOps tools (Jira Git Jenkins)

  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts

  • Expert level in Digital Signal Processing and Digital Communication concepts.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge and skills.
