Under the general supervision of the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance & Administration the Athletics Compliance Associate supports National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) eligibility certification financial aid processing compliance monitoring systems recruiting oversight and rules education efforts while ensuring accurate documentation timely reporting and consistent adherence to institutional NCAA and conference regulations across assigned Division I sports programs.
- Meets with Admissions and Records and the Matador Achievement Center weekly and as needed to ensure that all student-athletes (including transfer students) are eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics programs (i.e. review student-athlete academic records to determine if minimum NCAA eligibility requirements have been met (follows NCAA guidelines).
- Ensures financial aid is appropriately administered to student-athletes by preparing Financial Aid agreements and other necessary documents.
- Oversees recruiting monitoring systems: generates reports from the Compliance System and reviews reports including phone logs contact evaluation forms etc. to ensure no violations of NCAA bylaws.
- Responsible for drafting all required NCAA and conference forms reports waivers and appeals for review and approval prior to submission to governing authority (e.g. NCAA Squad Lists; eligibility certifications; APR etc.) for assigned sports.
- Ensures compliance with institutional NCAA and conference regulations; assesses analyzes and monitors institutional and outside financial aid benefits recruiting personnel and playing/practice seasons; summer camps/clinics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
