What You Will Do:
We are searching for a Community Research Coordinator to independently provide support services to satisfy the operational objectives of the Brain Health Equity (BHE) Unit within the Health Disparities Research Section (HDRS) at the National Institute on Aging (NIA). The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables by performing day-to-day management of a developing community-based cohort study under the direction of Dr. Indira Turney the Principal Investigator. This is a full-time opportunity requiring some weekends and is located in Baltimore MD.
Develop and nurture relationships with community stakeholders such as religious leaders community organizers and local advocates to build trust and engagement within the studys target population. This includes attending community meetings and events to promote the study and encourage enrollment.
Establish long-term partnerships with local organizations and institutions to ensure sustained community support and participant retention throughout the study.
Assist staff on all facets of clinical studies including subject enrollment scheduling outpatient appointments and inpatient admissions travel arrangements investigation consent subject longitudinal monitoring study data sample collection and data entry.
Participate in coordination and management of most daily activities of the study and ensure that study activities follow established protocol Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and utilize approved forms templates and practices.
Assist researchers with the collection and analysis of research data and samples.
What You Will Need:
Bachelors Degree
A minimum of TWO (2) years of experience working in public health epidemiology and/or clinical research.
Proven experience managing community-based epidemiological and longitudinal research studies particularly within historically marginalized and underserved populations.
Strong knowledge of IRB requirements Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical research regulations.
Demonstrated expertise in study design implementation analysis and evaluation for biomedical and behavioral research.
Experience recruiting and retaining difficult-to-reach and vulnerable populations through effective community engagement strategies.
Proficiency in developing study protocols reports and scientific presentations including communicating statistical findings.
Experience with RedCap Electronic Medical Records Systems and/or Electronic Data Capture System.
Valid Maryland drivers license and ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD public trust; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their public trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Masters Degree
Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Ability to work independently and manage complex research operations with strong project management communication and leadership skills.
Commitment to health equity and community-engaged research with a history of sustained involvement (3 years) in relevant roles
