Wastewater Treatment Supervisor

Summary

Supervisesthe operations of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. Overseesand performssampling and testing systems and the functionality of pumps conveyors blowers and other equipment. Ensuresteam members areup-to-datewith all federal state and local regulations and environmental guidelines. Ensures that project/department goalsandobjectivesare met andplant meets budget.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter

• Plans organizes assigns directs and reviews the workperformedin the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant andtreatmentdischarge operations.
• Oversees operation of facilities to meet all applicable regulatory requirements andin accordance withFederalStateand local ordinancecriteria and permit requirements.
• Develops and implements techniques and methodstoincreaseoperationefficiencyto reduce BODTSSand other constituents.
• Preparation ofdailymonthly quarterly and annual reports both internal and external.
• Supervise maintenance and service performedon plant components.
• Confers withplant leadership team memberson plantoperational problemsand functionality.
• Overseesand supportsthe preventive maintenance programand activitiesof the plant.
• Supervisesemergency and unscheduled work toassureappropriatefollow throughand performance.
• Implementssupervisesand enforcesdepartmentsafety and risk management programs.
• Coordinates equipment repair or replacement such that plant effluent quality limits aremaintained.
• Prepare and overseemaintenance and servicework orders.
• Supportthe requisition process for tools materials equipment and services.
• Performinventory of stored materialand partsfor use in the plant.
• Overseesand manage operatortraining activitiesdevelop andrevisesSOPsensure certifications are current.
• Support employeeissues including hiringevaluatingand work performance.
• In concert withplantmanagementteam provide technical support to review proposed regulatory compliance activities todeterminethe potential impact on company operations.
• Adheres to Saputos Code of Ethics andSaputo Values as a condition of employment.
• Performs other duties and tasks asrequired.

You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have The Following Experience Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or 5 years as a licensed Wastewater Treatment Operator with 2yearsSupervisory experience preferred
• MustpossessaMaryland I5 Licensed Operator certification
• Be able to perform and document various tests required by State and Federal agencies for the operation of a wastewater treatment plant.
• Perform daily and periodic checks and tests of the wastewater treatment process.
• Haveworking knowledge of the operationmethodsand procedures of a wastewater treatment plant.
• Haveworking knowledge of the machinery used for wastewater treatment and pumping stations.
• Have a thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunction.
• Have a working knowledge of basic machinery preventive maintenance and repair.
• Have extensiveknowledge of State and Federal rules governing wastewater discharges leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based MS Excel skills a plus.
• Ability to follow allEnvironmentalPolicies and Procedures and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Skill in organization and prioritization and attention to detail.
• Strong teamplayer and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines
