Department Summary

The Office of the Provost (OtP)is responsible forcarrying out the academic mission of the University of Oregon (UO). The office works collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance academic excellence student success and the UOs overall academic profile. Led by the provost and senior vice president theOtPis a dynamic caring community of colleagues committed to the core values of integrity trust equity collaboration and excellence. TheOtPsupports and coordinates matters that pertain to faculty success including hiring retention promotion and tenure processes. We promote the highest standards in teachingresearchand service working closely with the schools and colleges and other critical academic units to promote institutional and personal responsible foracademic financial allocations and the alignment of resources with strategic academic service to the public mission of the UO theOtPcultivates reciprocal relationships of engagement and outreach with communities at the local regional and national levels and across the globe.

In support of that goal we are launching eight Career Communities to elevate our career support for students. Each of the Career Communities will focus on an industry or cluster of industries of interest to UO students and will connect students from all majors with industry-informed guidance experiential learning and a supportive network of faculty peers alumni and employers.

Position Summary

We are hiring four Career Community Program Directors.

As aCareer Community Program Director you will play a pivotal role in helping University of Oregon students explore career paths build professional skills and connect learning to realworld opportunities. You will lead strategy and engagement fortwo Career Communities serving as a connector between students faculty advisors employers alumni and campus partners. Through collaboration and relationshipbuilding you will shape inclusive industryaligned experiences that support students across all majors as they prepare for life after graduation.

Under the leadership and supervision of the Director of Career Communitiesyou willconveneand facilitate advisory boardscultivate campus and external partnerships and use stakeholderexpertiseto design programming events and resources that expand access to internships jobs and experiential learning. You will drivestudent engagement through clear strategic communication ensuring students understand the value of Career Communities and can easily navigate opportunities and support. Using data feedback and institutional priorities you will continually assess impact and refine strategieshelping scaleequitablecareer development initiatives and improve student career readiness outcomes.

In this roleyoullbring strong project management and relationshipbuilding skills grounded in a studentcentered approach. Prior experience in a specific industry is not necessary to the opportunity to build your supervision skills managing a small team of student employees.

Core Duties

Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination:
Under the leadership of the Director of Career Communitiesrecruit andfacilitateadiverse advisory boardandleveragemembersexpertiseto shape programming and resourcesfor each oftwoCareer Communities. Build and sustain strong partnerships with campus and external stakeholders to increase visibility and connect students with meaningful opportunities.

Student Engagement and Communication:
Drive student engagement by using strategic student-centered communications across platforms to clearly articulate the value of Career Communities and connect students to relevant opportunities resources and experiences. Create accessible pathways for involvement deliver inclusive programming and actively guide students toward tools networks and personalized support that enhance their career development.

Employer and Alumni Engagement:
Develop andmaintainexpertisein industry trends while building relationships with employers and alumni to create meaningful engagement opportunities for and deliver community-aligned programs and events using data and collaboration to expand reach and continuously improve impact.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to position.
Three years of experience in career services administration student success or project management in a related field.

Project & Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects within firm deadlines; highly organized and detail oriented; able to take initiative adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Career Support: Knowledge of the needs of college students and employers intodaysand tomorrows work environment and how to prepare college graduates for lifelong career success.
Equity:Ability toworkwith students parents faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds in support of an inclusive and multiculturally competent environment.
Technology: Technical aptitude and ability to navigate andutilizetechnology for program administration and service delivery.
Strategy: Ability to make strategic decisions related to program development and student success initiatives.
Communication:Expertisein public speaking workshop facilitation and advising.

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in a career services or higher education environment.
Experience in project management.
